His Uncertain Origins

Quint was born in an abandoned house in the San Fernando Valley in California sometime in April of 2008. I don't know exactly when, of course, but the vet told me, when I took him in for his first check-up and vaccinations, that he was about fourteen weeks old. So, his early kittenhood was spent in the wilds of suburbia. Resourceful, even as a kitten, he found a loving human to feed and pet him at the house next door. Leticia, the girl who lived in that house, very much wanted him to come and live with her, but there just wasn't room at her house for another cat, so she decided to find someone who would provide a loving home for him.

I think dreams and thoughts and desires have more power than we imagine them to have. Sometimes, if we want something very much, and that something might be good for us to have, then what appears to be magic can cause things to happen that might not otherwise occur. Call it fate, if you like, but an unlikely series of events brought this little homeless kitten to my wife and I, and all of our lives are better because of it.
